1) no one brings ward of melee anymore
2) mid-liners rarely snare outside of relic runs (ie, not doing their job and actively snaring frontline)
3) theres more's then one warrior in IWAY so guardian can only go so far
4) Wep of warding's recharge makes it inefficient / impossible to actively use it anymore. Usualy just glued on one of the monks
5) since you like to mention skills that counter things, I would like to introduce you to multiple copies of [disrupting chop]

Also double fame was terra bad, IV, Hexway or the same balance shit that any decent r8+ team runs.
I didn't come across any strong like bearway which is so very disappointing

The addition of NF, Factions and GWEN didn't affect HA in such a negative way.
As I recall, NF testweekend in HA, there was about 20 districts, instead of the usual 8-12 districts.
Same for Factions, it had NO negative effect on HA whatever. Au contraire, alot of people enjoyed the new addition of skills, imba or not.
Even Nightfall, as overpowered as it was, it didn't have the negative effect it had as it did in GvG.
8v8 => 6v6 was the first blow
Then 6v6 => 8v8 with shitconditions killed it
Ever since then, various nerfs to different builds killed diversity.
Now, we're stuck with hway, rspike and some kind of Ranger, or Aoe abusing balanced.

Thinking better you are right about faction, it didnt really had negative effect on HA (well i might point out that it given more energy and protection to bloodspike ...) mostly because anet was very conservative on the power level of new profession and skills.
Im not so much sure about nightfall. Sure HA population got a big spike in number during nightfall test but so it did last weekend. Just instead of heroway there was the derv bomb thing.
You are pretty right also on 6v6 thing but i still love the HA ecosystem in the lasts pre-faction days.
Probably because i got the big feline, iway where rampant but match against them lasted no more then 4 minute, more team diversity, the only scourge was bloodspike.. but one cannot have everything.
There was also new flesh meat to eviscerate apart more often, now pvers like more filling HoM then pvping. Well thinking about it sometime so do i.

even 6v6 had a positive impact for a weekend. doesn't mean people got bored of the same old shit once everyone finished experimenting and found the biggest ways to exploit the mechanics.

It did impact it negatively. If I recall it was nothing but d/mos running around with reversal of damage, reversal of fortune, avatar of melandru and dwayna and just running around mashing 12345678. Can it get any dumber then that?

SRS BSNS! I think every build ever thought of has been QQ'd about at some point in this thread, even a "balanced" build. I think we just need a summative QQ sticky that explains multiple reasons (Not necessarily logical, or even a complete thought) for how bad every build, map, and objective in HA is.

2. put your monks in the back and body block them with the rest of the team.
3. put the mesmer in the pocket right after the monks
4. mesmer rape interrupts the necro.
5. eles aoe the warriors
6. wait for their IWAY to be put up and drop.
7. IWAY goes down and you start bashing at them.
8. Monks spam heal party... dont wine if your doing all this you will have more than enough energy.
9. all of this might take some time.
10. GG
11. Take the satisfaction of flaming iway onc they lose.
